St. Augustine Florida Lighthouse
Standing 165 feet above sea level. This 219-step lighthouse is nothing short of spectacular and quite the workout. The spiral staircase up has landings which are helpful both to rest as well as a "wait your turn". The stairs are very narrow and only allow for one person ascending or descending at a time. I was handed a few pieces of literature one of importance I failed to read, which was warnings. Pay attention to the yellow sheet of paper. It explains the physical requirement to make it up. TAKE YOUR TIME AND HYDRATE. The view at the top is amazing and so worth the sweat and " leg day" cramps.
